Heydar Aliyev to take part at
a summit to be held in Astana 
On November 8-10, a summit of Asian states heads will be held in Astana, where they will take part in Session on Reciprocity and Measures of Trust in Asia. Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan, Rashid Ibrayev, stated at the yesterday's press-conference in Baku, heads of 17 states will arrive in Astana. President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev also confirmed his participation at the summit.

Internal Minister of Russia
arrived in Azerbaijan
On October 23, foreign minister of Russia, Boris Grizlov, arrived in Azerbaijan with a two-day visit. At the airport he told journalists that he intended to discuss with his Azeri colleague, Ramil Usubov, the issues of strengthening the interaction struggle against the terrorism.
First of all, he said, would be discussed special operations on the Azeri-Russian border and preservation of the Caspian bioresources. Opinions will be exchanged on the combating illegal drugs turnover.
Charter on cooperation between MFA of the two states for 2002 will be signed upon outcomes of the negotiations between the foreign ministries of Russia and Azerbaijan. |

Waiting for triumph of wisdom
It is for 9 years, already, that Nagorny Karabakh and our 7 adjacent to it regions remain under Armenian’s occupation. Unfortunately, we learn about the things occurring beyond the line of front from foreign sources and through the rare trips to the occupied territories and Armenia arranged for Azeri journalists and legal right protectors by the international organisations. A group of Azeri journalists has recently returned from such visit paid to the Nagorny Karabakh and Armenia. The trip was arranged by the OSCE.

plan of LUKoil
In 2002 budget, LUKoil has envisaged the investment of $ 75 million in floating drilling rig upgrading. Total investment in the rig construction is currently estimated to make $ 225 million. «We intend to launch this unit by the end of 2003- beginning of 2004», the head of LUKoil, Vagit Alekperov, stated at the ceremony held in Baku and devoted to the 10th anniversary of this world-known Russian oil company.

Azeri boxers won 2 gold and 4 silver medals
l The First World Boxing Cup for juniors has recently completed in Baku. Azeri boxers Aslan Bayramov (57 kg) and Emil Maharramov (60 kg) won gold medals. Four Azeri sportsmen have won silver medals and 4 bronze ones.
