Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania who is at the same time a chairman of Committee of Ministers of Council of Europe M. Rezvan Ungurian may visit Azerbaijan in the nearest future. A representative of Embassy of Romania in Azerbaijan informed about this fact. The visit was scheduled for early April 2006. However due to some objective reasons it was postponed. M. Unguryanu will visit Azerbaijan within the framework of tourney to countries of Southern Caucasus. A number of questions will be discussed within the framework of forthcoming visit, including issues related to further integration of Azerbaijan into Council of Europe and perspectives of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Romania.

The next project’s realization of the Japanese government has just been completed in Azerbaijan. Solemn opening ceremony of kindergarten in Sangachal settlement not far from Baku took place on 17 April. This project’s realization was launched in July 2005 in accordance with a treaty signed between government of Japan and the international structure. This project’s fee makes $92 900. It is directed at improving of educational system, level of education and solving of social problems of people who settle there. It should be mentioned that this project was realized within the framework of a program titled “Herbs’ roots and human security”. This program is realized in Azerbaijan since 2000.Totally 74 projects have been realized in Azerbaijan within the framework of this program, total budget made $4, 7 million. These projects are aimed at further development of social sphere, educational system, health protecting structures and infrastructure in Azerbaijan. A representative of Embassy informs that within last 10-12 years government of Japan rendered support and assistance to Azerbaijan and invested about $ 693.60 million.

A Head of Foreign Affairs Department of the USA Embassy Jonathan Henik Is going to pay a visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomic Republic on 17-18 April. A diplomat informs that this trip will take place within the framework of realization of the program in sphere of culture. It is supposed that he will meet with a Chairman of Parliament V. Talibov and rectors of two state universities. He also will participate in a number of meetings in Ministry of Education. They will discuss questions on bilateral cooperation development. Jonathan Henik will also attend a meeting arranged in the central library in Nakhchivan as the American center operates there.

A process of modern equipment installation in a new medical and diagnostic center in Lencoran is almost completed. A representative of State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic that finances a scope of construction works informs about this fact. About $ 2 million was invested to purchase these equipment produced by Siemens and Freezenius companies. It is scheduled that the equipment installation will be completed in May.
“The exact date of the official opening of this object hasn’t been fixed yet”, - declared a representative of SOCAR. This medical and diagnostic center will have departments of dialyze, first aid, functional diagnostics equipped with modern apparatus, including ultra sound equipment and apparatus of computer tomography, roentgen (X-ray photography equipment) and so on. The analogues objects are constructed now in Ali-Bayramly, Barda, Gandja, Gazakh and other regions. This project was carried out in accordance with a State Program on social and economic development of all regions of Azerbaijan. About 200- 250 people will work there on putting each center into exploitation.

UK supports a process of negotiations in OSCE Minsk Group format and recognizes territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan Republic. Ambassador of Azerbaijan to UK Rafael Ibraghimov declared this within the framework of on line interview granted to BBS Russian company. Judging by his words the United Kingdom has a clear and stable position on this conflict. “ This country being a permanent member of the Security Council of UNO has supported all four resolutions (822, 853, 874 и 884) that this organization approved in 1993. UK also presided on a meeting when one of these resolutions was adopted “, - told the Ambassador.
“Official London attentively follows a process of negotiations and supports as soon as possible solving of this conflict by peaceful way. UK is not a member of Minsk Group of OSCE. Special Envoy of the government of Great Britain Sir Brian Fopp has repeatedly visited this region. He arranged and participated in a number of meetings while exchanging opinions on a wide specter of questions including the Nagorny Karabakh conflict.
“Since the days when this conflict has arisen for the first time official London supported sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and is still adherent to this position», - R. Ibraghimov emphasized. Speaking about possible intensification of the UK activities directed at peaceful solving of this conflict due to Minsk group’s efforts the Ambassador declared that the country would welcome any further intensification of efforts aimed at restoration of territorial integrity of Azerbaijan from either any country’s or foreign organization’s side, especially if it would be so powerful country as UK is.
